Bionic reading is a formatting style that bolds the leading letters of each word. The idea is that the highlighted starts give your eyes fixation points so you can skim the rest of the word, which some readers find helps focus and pace. It is a reading aid, not a scientifically guaranteed speed boost.

It controls how much of each word is bolded. Light bolds roughly the first 40% of a word's letters, Medium about half, and Strong around two-thirds. Words always keep at least one un-bolded letter at the end so there is something to skim.

Use "Copy as HTML" to keep the bold tags for rich-text editors, email, or web pages, or "Copy as Markdown" to paste **bold** markers into Markdown editors and notes apps. Plain text fields will show the markers rather than rendered bold.
