No. The resizer runs entirely in your browser using the HTML canvas — your image is read, drawn at the new size, and re-encoded on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Keep "Lock aspect ratio" checked (in dimensions mode) or use percentage mode. Then editing one side updates the other proportionally, so the image keeps its original shape and never looks squashed.
Use PNG when you need lossless quality or transparency, JPG for the smallest photos (no transparency), and WebP for a modern format that is small and supports transparency. For JPG and WebP you can also set a quality level.
Yes — set a width, height, or percentage above the original. Enlarging cannot add detail that was not captured, so very large upscales will look soft; downscaling stays crisp. The maximum side is 8192 pixels.
