Frequently asked questions
The standard 4.0 unweighted scale: A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, and so on down to F = 0.0. Schools that use different scales or weight honors and AP courses will produce a different number.
Each letter grade is converted to its point value, multiplied by the credit hours, summed, and divided by the total credits entered. Courses with zero or invalid credit hours are ignored.
No. This calculator uses the standard unweighted 4.0 scale, so an A in AP Calc and an A in PE both count as 4.0. If your school adds 0.5 or 1.0 for honors / AP courses, the result here will be lower than your official transcript.
