Frequently asked questions
No. The image is rotated and flipped entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. The file never leaves your device and nothing is sent to a server.
You can rotate in 90° steps left or right (the four quarter turns), and flip horizontally or vertically. The buttons combine, so you can mirror the image and then rotate it. The output dimensions are swapped automatically for 90° and 270° turns.
The tool keeps JPEG sources as JPEG and WebP as WebP at high quality, and exports everything else (PNG, GIF, BMP) as a lossless PNG so transparency is preserved. The downloaded file is named after the original with a -rotated suffix.
Quarter-turn rotations and flips are exact pixel rearrangements, so a PNG stays pixel-perfect. A JPEG is re-encoded once at high quality (about 92%), which is visually lossless for a single rotation but, like any JPEG save, not bit-for-bit identical.
