Frequently asked questions
Type the letters you have. The tool lists every word in the chosen word list that can be spelled using only those letters, each at most as many times as you typed it. Use ? or * for a blank tile that can stand in for any letter (up to 3 blanks, and up to 15 letters and blanks in total). Results are grouped by length, longest first, and the letters a blank filled are highlighted.
Open word lists for English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Russian and Arabic; pick one in the language selector. By default the tool uses your interface language when it has a list, and English otherwise, so Chinese, Japanese and Hindi pages search English words. These lists are not the official dictionary of any game, so a word can be accepted here and refused by a game, or the other way round. The Russian list holds base forms only, without case or verb endings. No definitions are shown.
No. Searching and filtering happen in your browser. To search, the page downloads open word-list files for the language and word lengths it needs; those requests show only the language and lengths, never your letters. So that you can bookmark a search, your letters are kept in the page address after the # sign; anyone you send that link to will see them.
They are optional. Show classic letter points sorts each length by the tile values of the classic letter-tile set for the chosen language and lists the highest-scoring words. A blank counts as 0. No board or premium squares are modelled, and a word with a letter that has no tile value is not scored.
